Advanced Protective Factors Trainings
The Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework™ is an evidence-informed tool for strengthening families and reducing the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. The framework helps professionals work with children and families to promote the optimal development of all children while protecting vulnerable children from maltreatment.
CalTrin provides an introductory Protective Factors webinar series that focuses on one factor each month. This training is designed for anyone who works with children and families and focuses on concrete ways your work can support the building of Protective Factors. Learn more.
Often, people ask, “Do you offer advanced Protective Factors training?” Maybe you are also here looking for THE Advanced Protective Factors training. What would that training look like? As you deepen your knowledge and experience with the Protective Factors, you might be thinking about HOW to apply the framework in YOUR work with children and families. You also might want more information about using the Protective Factors in specific contexts, including strategies, tools, and resources.
The Protective Factors Framework is useful to all child- and family-serving staff throughout their careers, in many settings, and serves very diverse needs. At CalTrin, the framework guides how we think about and select training. Instead of looking for a single Advanced Protective Factors training, we encourage you to shift to looking at all training with an “advanced” Protective Factors lens:
- What do you already know about the Protective Factors?
- How can you apply this knowledge?
- What else would it be helpful to learn about how the Protective Factors can be integrated into your work?
- Where can you find more training?
To help you get started, we have created an index of CalTrin training matched with each Protective Factor. We hope this helps you choose training that is meaningful to your work and focused on the Protective Factors you’d like to learn more about.
