This webinar, presented by the CDSS Safety, Prevention and Early Intervention Branch, will provide an overview of the Family First Prevention Services Program Opt in Process, the Comprehensive Prevention Plan, and the FFPS State Block Grant. Included will be an overview of the required elements and the resources available for completing the Comprehensive Prevention Plan (CPP) Template as well as a preview of the state’s technical assistance plan.

 

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the Family First Prevention Services Program and Comprehensive Prevention Plan, including the Opt-In Process.
  2. Outline the elements of the Comprehensive Prevention Plan, and who needs to be involved in the Comprehensive Prevention Plan process for their county.
  3. Understand the Technical Assistance Roadmap, how it works, and the difference between the capacity assessment and the readiness assessment.
  4. Understand the funding process, including what funds can be spent at various timepoints in the process and on what activities.
  5. Understand how to access additional support and information on the Comprehensive Prevention Plan process, including how to be involved in its development.

 

 

 

An interactive Q&A session, facilitated by CDSS, on April 21 will provide an opportunity to ask detailed technical questions about the Comprehensive Prevention Planning process. Questions may be submitted during registration; additional opportunities for questions and dialogue will be provided during the Q&A session. participants should be familiar with the Block Grant letter (ACL 22-23) and have attended the Roadmap to Comprehensive Prevention Planning webinar on March 30, 2022, and/or reviewed the recording, slides, and materials for this webinar.

Specifically, we will focus our conversation on assessing and strengthening a team’s commitment toward a primary prevention mindset.
