AB 2085 in Practice: Distinguishing Poverty from Neglect

June 23 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am PDT
Free

This 90-minute, interactive PILOT training explores how mandated reporters can apply California’s updated guidance on general neglect (AB2085) in thoughtful and equitable ways. Through interactive activities, real-world case examples, reflection, discussion, and practical decision-making tools, participants will examine the difference between poverty-related conditions and suspected neglect, while strengthening their ability to respond appropriately within their professional role.

This training emphasizes critical thinking, bias awareness, and collaborative support pathways — helping participants move beyond “if in doubt, report” toward more intentional and informed practice. Participants will engage in scenario analysis, breakout discussions, lived-experience perspectives, and practical application exercises designed to support real-world decision-making across a variety of helping professions.
