DIRECT SERVICE DELIVERY SKILLS

This pillar includes the general skills necessary to deliver effective services to families and children in a child abuse prevention or early intervention environment. Topics include engagement, case management skills, working with specific populations, diversity, equity, and inclusion, implicit bias mitigation, information on populations’ needs (mental health, substance abuse, etc.), and addressing and ameliorating risk factors in these populations. The focus is on skill building, as opposed to training on a specific intervention or model.
