Glenn County is committed to expanding the availability of prevention services to keep children and families together whenever possible. Glenn County identified five service priorities to address the major community needs, service gaps, and challenges. One of their service objectives in Phase I of their CPP implementation to provide community-based pathways to preventive services outside of the traditional child welfare system by enhancing their Family Services Unit. Through this creative prevention strategy, Glenn County thoughtfully planned for sustainability as it is a change in practice rather than a new program that needs additional funding. Furthermore, Glenn County intends to explore the development, replication, and expansion of the following EBPs in Phase I of implementation: Family Check Up, Motivational Interviewing, Nurse-Family Partnership, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Parents as Teachers.
