November 18, 2026
9:00 – 10:30 A.M. PT

Este seminario virtual se presentará en inglés con interpretación al español.
This essential training provides child-serving professionals—such as youth workers, social workers, and educators—with a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR). Participants will explore the benefits and risks of these technologies, particularly their implications for child abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Special focus is given to the rise of AI-generated Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and other forms of digital exploitation. The course offers practical strategies for identifying vulnerabilities, recognizing warning signs, and responding effectively when a child may be at risk.
Participants will be able to:
- Explain the core concepts of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR), and describe their potential benefits and risks for youth and child-serving professionals.
- Identify and assess the unique dangers these technologies pose, with emphasis on child exploitation—including the creation and distribution of AI-generated Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
- Apply and recommend practical strategies to protect youth from AI/VR/AR-related harm and respond effectively to suspected cases of maltreatment or exploitation involving these technologies.
Who should attend: All staff of family resource center (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), and other child- and family-serving organizations.
