Supervising people presents challenges as well as opportunities for growth. Join us over two sessions to sharpen your skills to better manage, communicate with, and motivate your staff as well as network and learn from other supervisors. Walk away with new approaches for working with your team to best accomplish your goals.

 

Topics include:

  • Maximizing productivity with today’s fast-paced, multi-generational workforce
  • Developing techniques to supervise a diverse workforce
  • Communicating effectively with your staff
  • Setting expectation and priorities
  • Managing staff remotely and during times of continual change
  • Transitioning from being “one of the team members” to the person in charge

 

Who Should Attend: This seminar is designed both for new nonprofit supervisors and experienced nonprofit supervisors who have had no formal training in their roles.

 

IMPORTANT TRAINING INFORMATION:

  • This is an interactive training. Please be prepared to participate in activities such as group discussion, break out rooms, and/or demonstration. Your training experience will be best with the use of a web cam, audio, and a training environment conducive to active participation.
  • This training will NOT be recorded.
  • This is a small-group training. Spaces are limited space and there may be a waiting list. Preference will be given to applicants from California. All applicants will be contacted by the week of March 4, 2024.
  • CalTrin “No Show” Policy. While CalTrin training is free to learners, it requires significant financial and human resources to provide high-quality, small-group interactive training experiences. In addition, these trainings frequently have a waiting list. Selected participants who do not attend the training and do not contact CalTrin in advance may not be selected for future application-based small-group training.
  • Participants are expected to attend both sessions in this series. If you are interested in this training but cannot attend all sessions, please contact CalTrin to be placed on the waiting list for future training.

MEET THE SPEAKER

Patricia brings to CNM more than 15 years of experience supporting the nonprofit community. Her passion for empowering people by helping them to learn and grow has been what drives her in each of her roles. Patricia has coordinated and managed training, events, and conferences; she has coached adult learners and managers; and she has facilitated training for volunteers and clients – all of which she has conducted in both English and Spanish. At CNM, Patricia oversees certification programs, scholarship grant administration, and customized trainings. She is a key part of the team that coordinates CNM’s seminars, workshops, events, and the 501(c)onference. She holds a B.S. from ITESM, a prestigious university in Mexico, and is a Certified Coach by Goldvarg Consulting Group (an ICF-accredited program).
