TRAINING DETAILS:
How can you assess whether you are actually weaving protective factors in your work? In this session, we’ll briefly review the five Protective Factors and explore a free and public tool created by the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) to help assess individual and organizational impact for staff of Community-Based Programs, Family Resource Centers (FRCs), Home Visiting Programs, Center-Based Early Care, Education Programs, and Family Child Care Providers.
Whether you lead programs or work directly with families, you will leave with practical tools to help bring Protective Factors from concept to action.
Participants will:
- Briefly describe the five protective factors
- Explore a free Protective Factor assessment tool created by CSSP that supports individual and organizational reflection and growth
- Assess integration of Protective Factors into individual and organizational practices
- Develop a personal or team-based action plan to further integrate the Protective Factors into their work with families
¿Cómo puede evaluar si realmente está incorporando los factores de protección en su trabajo? En esta sesión, revisaremos brevemente los cinco factores de protección y exploraremos una herramienta gratuita y pública creada por el Centro para el Estudio de la Política Social (CSSP, por sus siglas en inglés) para ayudar a evaluar el impacto individual y organizacional en el personal de los programas comunitarios, los centros de recursos para familias (FRC, por sus siglas en inglés), los programas de visitas al hogar, los programas de servicio de intervención temprana, los programas educativos y los proveedores de atención infantil en el hogar.
Tanto si dirige programas como si trabaja directamente con familias, aprenderá herramientas prácticas que le ayudarán a llevar los Factores de Protección del concepto a la acción.
Los participantes podrán:
- Describir brevemente los cinco factores de protección
- Explorar una herramienta gratuita de evaluación de factores de protección creada por CSSP que apoya la reflexión y el crecimiento individual y organizacional
- Evaluar la integración de los factores de protección en las prácticas individuales y organizacionales
- Desarrollar un plan de acción personal o de equipo para integrar aún más los factores de protección en su trabajo con las familias
Who should attend: Staff of family resource centers (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), community-based organizations, and other child- and family-serving systems.

- This is a webinar-style training. This means that you will not be on camera and will not be able to see other learners. This training will not include breakout rooms. Opportunities to interact with the presenter(s) and other participants will be included.

MEET THE SPEAKER
As a Training Coordinator for CalTrin, Jessica’s primary goal is to ensure staff, administrators, and stakeholders working in child abuse prevention services have access to quality training and resources. Her experience in the area of Human Resources and Training & Development has focused on designing, implementing, and facilitating engaging and interactive learning programs for leaders and direct staff. Jessica is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and a Certified Master Trainer with the Association (ATD). She is also Certified in the Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support (National Family Support Network).
