California is rolling out access to the Protective Factors Survey (PFS) database to support the critical work of collecting data to evaluate effectiveness of interventions/programs. Learn about the PFS and how this free tool can be used for program evaluation and monitoring in your agency and county. Hear more from Los Angeles County, where the DCFS and their providers have piloted wide use of the PFS and the PFS database and will share their experience rolling out and using the PFS. They will discuss who is using the PFS database, benefits, challenges, and how the County and providers are using the data collected. Follow-up workshops will provide specific training on how to administer the survey and use the PFS database.

Participants will:

  • Review how data can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and programs
  • Learn how the Protective Factor Survey can be used to support program evaluation, monitoring, and reporting for OCAP Annual Reports and Comprehensive Prevention Planning (CPP)
  • Learn about the California roll-out of the PFS database
  • Understand the options for collecting, analyzing, and using the Protective Factor Survey to improve child and family-serving programs, including the perspective of California’s first county to roll-out use of the PFS database

Who should attend: Leaders of family- and child-serving organizations, as well as quality improvement and evaluation staff
