Opportunities for Expanding Parent Leadership

This training will highlight two parent leadership programs – our resilience-focused, peer-led positive parenting program Family Hui, and our online, at-your-own-pace Academy on Community Action (ACA). We will explore the challenges of engaging parents in leadership roles, and how these programs help prepare parents to realize their role as a leader in their family as well as in their community. The training will cover the underlying principles of the programs, how they help build parent advocacy and leadership capacity, and how to more effectively involve parent leaders in the work of family and community services organizations.
