This presentation will explore the stigmas associated with masculinity and the challenges men face in accepting help and embracing vulnerability, particularly with strangers. In developing the content, I plan to emphasize that fathers are especially interested in hearing about tangible results from services. Establishing trust and maintaining transparency are paramount when contacting fathers, as these are crucial factors in building rapport and encouraging engagement. It is also important to acknowledge that if trust is broken, it can be incredibly difficult, and sometimes irreparable, to mend. These points will be central to the strategies discussed in the presentation. We will also delve into the cultural considerations that can deter individuals, particularly fathers, from seeking assistance from agencies, fearing that such involvement could lead to worse outcomes, especially in family court. A key focus will be to challenge the misconception that fathers cannot achieve favorable outcomes in family court and to highlight strategies for co-parents to collaborate effectively and avoid judicial intervention, even after aromantic relationship has ended.
