 Learn More & Apply

Dates & times for the sessions in this
workshop are listed below.

We are no accepting applications for the 2023-24 Emerging Leaders Development Program. The deadline to apply was 7/27/23. If you wish to be added to the interest list for the 2024-24 program, please contact CalTrin.

The CalTrin Emerging Leaders Development Program was designed for individuals who have been in leadership roles for less than 3 years (supervisors/managers with direct reports). Through a mix of interactive workshops, small group exercises, and self-reflection, you will gain practice, insight, and strategy for leading an effective and engaged workforce and organization. Over the course of 7-months, you will be challenged and supported as you learn and apply everyday practical strategies – ending with a leadership stretch project.

Workshop and Training Topics will include:

  • Strengths-Based Leadership
  • Supervising for Success
  • Delivering Effective Feedback
  • Navigating Difficult Performance Conversations
  • Leading Through Change
  • Developing Others Through Coaching

Who Should Attend: Team Leads, Supervisors and/or Managers with less than 3 years of leadership experience.

  • This is an interactive training series. Please be prepared to participate in activities such as group discussion, break out rooms, and/or demonstration. Your training experience will be best with the use of a web cam, audio, and a training environment conducive to active participation.
  • This series will be recorded. The recordings will be available to registered learners within 2 days of the sessions.
  • This is a small-group training series. Spaces are limited space and there may be a waiting list. Preference will be given to applicants from California. All applicants will be contacted by the week of Aug. 8, 2023.
  • CalTrin “No Show” Policy. While CalTrin training is provided at no cost to learners, it requires significant financial and human resources to provide high-quality, small-group interactive training experiences. In addition, these trainings frequently have a waiting list. Selected participants who do not attend this training and do not contact CalTrin in advance may not be selected for future application-based small group trainings within the next 6 months.
  • Participants are expected to attend all sessions in this series. If you are interested in this training but cannot attend all sessions, please contact CalTrin to be placed on the waiting list for future trainings.
  • Coursework: Participants will be required to complete up to 3 hours per week of program coursework, including independent projects and communicating with an assigned accountability group.
