Strengths-Based Leadership


In this series of  workshops participants will focus on three areas. Participants will explore their greatest strengths and how to leverage them to achieve high performance and high energy in their role. Next, they will learn how to build a strengths-based team. Finally, the focus will be on strengths-based coaching for mentoring, professional development, feedback and performance reviews.

Learners will:

  • Explore their CliftonStrengths results and identify key ways to leverage their unique strength combination in their work.
  • Leave with three key strategies for developing a strengths-based team and culture in their organization.
  • Participants will practice applying strengths-based approach to team building, coaching, mentoring, performance reviews and self reflection.

Who should attend: Staff in leadership roles and people recently promoted to supervisory/manager roles at family resource centers, child abuse prevention councils, and other child and family-serving organizations.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER – Important Registration Information:

  1. This is a highly interactive training that will require you to use audio and webcam. Please be prepared to participate in activities such as group/partner discussion and breakout rooms. 
  2. This is a small group workshop and spaces are limited. Preference will be given to applicants from California. Please note that registrations will NOT be automatically approved. Selected applicants will receive a confirmation message and we will contact waitlisted applicants by the week of March 7, 2022.
  3. Participants are expected to attend all 3 sessions. If you are interested in this training but cannot attend all 3 sessions, please contact CalTrin to be placed on the waiting list for future trainings.

Coach and Facilitator



Polly Chandler is a Leadership Development and Career Transition Coach and Trainer for  Polly Chandler Coaching. Her career path evolved from an intentional decision to focus on what energizes her most: coaching, mentoring and training facilitation. Her previous career was in higher education where she served as the Chair of the Department of Management and Director of the MBA in Sustainability at Antioch University New England. Polly now works with individuals and trains teams in multiple sectors. She is particularly interested in helping people to discover their greatest leadership potential so they can best serve the needs of communities, organizations and the environment.
