Supervising for Success

Supervising people presents challenges as well as opportunities for growth. Join us over two sessions to sharpen your skills to better manage, communicate with, and motivate your staff as well as network and learn from other supervisors. Walk away with new approaches for working with your team to best accomplish your goals.
Topics include:
- Maximizing productivity with today’s fast-paced, multi-generational workforce
- Developing techniques to supervise a diverse workforce
- Communicating effectively with your staff
- Setting expectation and priorities
- Managing staff remotely and during times of continual change
- Transitioning from being “one of the team members” to the person in charge
Who Should Attend: This seminar is designed both for new and experienced nonprofit supervisors and those who have had no formal training in their role.
IMPORTANT TRAINING INFORMATION:
- This is an interactive training. Please be prepared to participate in activities such as group discussion, break out rooms, and/or demonstration. Your training experience will be best with the use of a web cam, audio, and a training environment conducive to active participation.
- This is a small-group training. Spaces are limited space and there may be a waiting list. Preference will be given to applicants from California. All applicants will be contacted by the week of September 12, 2022.
- CalTrin “No Show” Policy. While CalTrin training is provided at no cost to learners, it requires significant financial and human resources to provide high-quality, small-group interactive training experiences. In addition, these trainings frequently have a waiting list. Selected participants who do not attend this training and do not contact CalTrin in advance may not be selected for future application-based small group trainings within the next 6 months.

MEET THE SPEAKER
Alexis is a Senior Strategist at the Center for Nonprofit Management with over two decades of leadership experience in higher education and the non-profit sector. Her career has centered around building leadership capacity of staff and community members, organizational development, program evaluation and community-based participatory research. She has worked in and with organizations focused on educational equity, urban planning and local history, environmental advocacy, community health, systems change, and family strengthening.
