Transformation Points: Redesigning Child Welfare to Help Youth and Families Thrive

April 29 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT

Free

The multiple crises that we have faced in 2020 and 2021, including the global pandemic and national and global racial justice reckoning, have accelerated thinking on transformation of the child welfare system. Throughout the country, jurisdictions are rethinking all aspects of the system, to make it more community-based, youth-centered, and responsive to families’ and communities’ needs.

Join Fostering Media Connections and Binti for an engaging discussion about how we can retool the child welfare system.

Our panelists:

  • Jerry Milner, former Associate Commissioner of the U.S. Children’s Bureau
  • Kelley Fong, Assistant Professor, School of History and Sociology at Georgia Tech
  • Brian Blalock, Cabinet Secretary, New Mexico Children Youth and Families Department
  • Sixto Cancel, CEO, Think of Us
  • Barrett Johnson, Director of Business Development, Binti

Moderated by FMC’s new Co-Executive Director John Kelly.
