Quality Improvement Center for Family-Centered Reunification: How to Improve Services and Speed Reunification for Families
June 29 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm PDT
Join the Center on Children and the Law for the final webinar in a three-part series on Reunification. This final webinar will examine how the federal government is investing in reunification through the Quality Improvement Center for Family-Centered Reunification (QIC-R).
This webinar will provide an overview of the QIC-R and implementation sites located in Ohio, Kentucky, Montana, and New York. These QIC-R sites are developing interventions to improve services for families and decrease the timeframe to reunification.
HHS leadership will join the webinar to highlight the importance of focusing on reunification all year long in national policy and practice work.
This webinar is especially timely because on June 20, Congressional Black Caucus members introduced a Special Order highlighting the importance of National Reunification Month and focusing on the disproportionate separation of Black families by foster care and welfare services. The CBC called on our country to recognize the importance of keeping families together and the long-term benefits that come with stable family structures.
Panelists:
- Rebecca Jones Gaston, Commissioner, Administration on Children, Youth and Families
- Darquita Fletcher, Project Director, QIC-R
- Kristine Monroe, Data Manager, Department of Job and Family Services, Ohio (QIC-R Implementation Site)
- Amy Spriggs, Service Region Clinical Associate, Department for Community Based Services, Kentucky (QIC-R Implementation Site)
- Beverly Schulterbrandt, Senior Attorney, ABA Center on Children and the Law
- Chauncey Strong, Executive Director, Strong Training and Consulting, LLC
