Human Trafficking Awareness Month Listening Session 1: International Human Trafficking in the Midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Professor Ruchira Gupta is a journalist, teacher, and community organizer who is one of the leading voices and campaigners in the movement to end global sex trafficking. She has taught at New York University, collaborated with the United Nations and international governments to combat and end human trafficking, and founded the APNEAAP Women Worldwide organization to combat the exploitation and trafficking of women.

Professor Gupta will provide the international and national trends and issues in combating human trafficking in light of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. She will also discuss human trafficking crimes within the equity lens and its impact to society.
