Centering Equity When Communicating about Home Visiting Research and Data

Even the most carefully conducted research can be harmful if misinterpreted or poorly communicated. In this webinar, we will describe how home visiting professionals can center equity in their communication, particularly when describing research and data. After attending this webinar participants will be able to:
• Describe dominant narratives about race and why understanding them is important
• Discuss 3 key guidelines for equitably talking about home visiting
• Give examples of how to critically consume and translate home visiting research
• Identify resources for additional learning
Esther Gross is a technical assistance specialist and racial equity expert at Child Trends. Her work focuses on ensuring that social science research and evaluation are informed by the people they impact. For several years, she has led, designed, and facilitated conversations and trainings on equity.
Sarah Crowne is a senior research scientist and home visiting expert at Child Trends. Her work focuses on strengthening the home visiting workforce and building implementation supports that improve program quality and services for families.
