Advancing Equity Everyday
August 18 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm PDTFree
This webinar will provide an overview of how FRCs advance equity through their work with families and addressing systematic barriers.
- How are Family Resource Centers (FRCs) uniquely positioned to advance equity for families?
- How is equity reflected throughout the staffing, structure, and work of FRCs?
- How do FRCs address systemic inequities that impact the lives of the families and communities they serve?
Equity refers to all people possessing what they need in order to achieve their full potential. Working to achieve equity acknowledges systemic unequal starting places and the need to correct the imbalance.
As programs that are developed of, by, and for the communities they serve, Family Resource Centers (FRCs) utilize a family-centered, strengths-based approach aligned with advancing equity. Recognizing that families are deeply affected by community conditions systemic barriers, and inequalities, FRCs both work collaboratively with various stakeholders and support families to develop advocacy and leadership skills to address them.
This webinar will provide a framework of how FRCs advance equity through how they are developed, structured, work with families, and address systematic barriers. It will feature examples of FRCs in Washington, DC, and San Francisco, California striving to end inequalities in their communities.
