SUMMARY:Becoming a Trauma-Informed Leader
DESCRIPTION:The last couple of years have been incredibly challenging for leaders who have supported staff throughout a time of profound societal change. Leaders are trying to achieve the ultimate balancing act by ensuring that they continue to provide necessary services to the public\, support their staff with both compassion and accountability\, and take care of themselves.  \nThis workshop series is designed to build on the Trauma-Informed Leadership webinar from September 2024 through three intensive deep-dive conversations. Part 1 (March 11) will focus on supporting the individual leader to prepare to do this work\, part 2 (March 25) will focus on supporting leaders to implement this work with their team with a focus on developing safety and trust\, and part 3 (April 8) will specifically focus on developing and maintaining personal and professional boundaries as a key way to create safety and trust on your teams. In each session\, participants will engage in self-assessment and self-reflection activities to identify their areas of strength as well as potential opportunities for growth. Participants will be encouraged to share and learn from one another so that they can leave the sessions with concrete strategies to support their development as trauma-informed leaders.    \nLearn More & Register

SUMMARY:Breaking the Cycle: How Economic Supports Strengthen Families and Break Down Barriers
DESCRIPTION:Family economic well-being goes beyond merely having money; it includes access to essential resources like safe housing\, nutritious food\, and health care\, as well as the emotional security that comes from financial stability. When families have what they need\, they experience less stress\, create more stable home environments\, and can better support their children’s healthy growth and development. This is particularly important during pregnancy and the formative first 1\,000 days of a child’s life. \nJoin BUILD/PN-3 Capacity-Building Hub for the next Whole Child\, Whole Family\, Whole System Webinar Series session. We will explore how economic supports\, rather than short-term fixes\, can provide a foundation for long-term stability. Economic supports include tax credits\, raising the minimum wage\, cash transfer programs\, or home visiting programs that help families meet their basic needs. The webinar will feature state leaders who will highlight the power of systemic change in breaking cycles of hardship and ensuring that families and communities can truly thrive. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:The Path to Racial Equity: Addressing Disparities for Transition Age Youth in Child Welfare
DESCRIPTION:Join Alliance for Children’s Rights for a virtual policy summit focused on actionable solutions to address racial disparities and disproportionalities for transition age youth in child welfare. The Alliance for Children’s Rights report\, Supporting Their Journey: The Path to Racial Equity in Child Welfare for Transition Age Youth\, and accompanying policy and practice recommendations\, builds on our first report\, The Path to Racial Equity in Child Welfare: Valuing Family and Community\, published in 2021\, addressing racial disparities and disproportionalities in the child welfare system. This second phase of our Whole Families/Whole Communities campaign examines the racial disparities and inequities transition age youth\, those aged 16-24\, experience while in and exiting the foster care system and the ways in which those inequities are driven by systemic factors\, such as implicit bias\, socioeconomic inequality\, and inadequate access to culturally responsive services. \nThis virtual policy summit will focus on targeted policy and practice reforms aimed at combatting the impacts of systemic disparities and disproportionalities\, fostering stability\, and expanding economic and educational opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of transition age youth. We will be joined by a lived experience expert sharing their insights on barriers and challenges transition age youth face. Participants will engage in breakout sessions to explore the supports and interventions needed for youth in foster care to thrive. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Moving Beyond DEI 101
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Dana E. Crawford for a dynamic and supportive training series focused on building skills to navigate tense cultural situations. This series is grounded in the Crawford Bias Reduction Theory & Training (CBRT)\, a clinical approach specifically designed to reduce bias\, prejudice\, and racism. CBRT identifies bias as a socially transmitted condition that is often triggered when individuals perceive threats\, such as conflicting moral values\, interpersonal conflicts\, career instability\, social power dynamics\, accusations of bias\, or difficulties in deescalating tense interactions. \nThis training series offers a supportive environment for professionals to engage in meaningful conversations and process the challenges of working in a culturally divided society. The sessions are designed to equip participants with practical tools to foster understanding and equity in all areas of life—whether in the workplace\, community\, or personal relationships. \nLearn More & Register

SUMMARY:From Zero to Thrive! Nurturing Resilience in Families from Pregnancy through Early Childhood
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will introduce Zero to Thrive and the Strong Roots™ framework. We will review the science behind resilience from conception through early childhood\, and how this led to the identification of the Strong Roots Protective Factors. Drawing from our own work with Mom Power\, Fraternity of Fathers\, and Strong Roots Parent Cafés\, we will illustrate how Strong Roots Protective Factors can help children\, families\, and communities flourish. Presenters will share tools designed to support parents and caregivers in responding to their child’s behavior\, recognizing there is no “one right way” to parent\, and instead empowering parents and caregivers to create space for reflection and consider how they want to respond to their children’s feelings and needs. Attendees will be encouraged to consider how this approach might also be used to understand and respond to parents’\, caregivers’\, and even their own\, feelings and needs. All tools shared are freely available in both English and Spanish. \nLearn More & Register
