SUMMARY:Plan of Safe Care: Making Safety Policy a Strategy for Child and Family Well-being
DESCRIPTION:Most new parents leave the hospital and enter the sometimes scary world of being responsible for the safety and well-being of an infant. For parents who struggle with substance use and addiction\, underlying stressors can make an already challenging time more difficult. A Plan of Safe Care is a family-centered plan designed to promote the safety and well-being of birthing parents and their infants with prenatal substance exposure. SUMMARY:Becoming a Trauma-Informed Leader
DESCRIPTION:The last couple of years have been incredibly challenging for leaders who have supported staff throughout a time of profound societal change. Leaders are trying to achieve the ultimate balancing act by ensuring that they continue to provide necessary services to the public\, support their staff with both compassion and accountability\, and take care of themselves.  \nThis workshop series is designed to build on the Trauma-Informed Leadership webinar from September 2024 through three intensive deep-dive conversations. Part 1 (March 11) will focus on supporting the individual leader to prepare to do this work\, part 2 (March 25) will focus on supporting leaders to implement this work with their team with a focus on developing safety and trust\, and part 3 (April 8) will specifically focus on developing and maintaining personal and professional boundaries as a key way to create safety and trust on your teams. In each session\, participants will engage in self-assessment and self-reflection activities to identify their areas of strength as well as potential opportunities for growth. Participants will be encouraged to share and learn from one another so that they can leave the sessions with concrete strategies to support their development as trauma-informed leaders.    \nLearn More & Register

SUMMARY:Effectively Welcoming LGBTQIA+ Youth Into Our Work
DESCRIPTION:Issues around sexual orientation and/or gender identity are often left unexplored in our child-serving organizations and agencies.  Research shows us\, however\, that LGBTQIA+ youth often face increased levels of risk of harm by others and to themselves. SUMMARY:Debriefing and Mutual Support
DESCRIPTION:Many professions use the term “debriefing” to describe protocols used to respond in the aftermath of critical events. Yet\, there is confusion about which practices are helpful and healthy – and which ones may lead to further harm. How do we support one another while protecting ourselves from traumatic content? How do we embed regular check-ins for mutual support? \nThis training provides best practice recommendations for processing the distressing elements of our work. It also provides guidance on establishing communities of support and debriefing processes that consider critical incidents as well as the cumulative impact of on-going trauma exposure – which\, due to its subtle nature\, can often be overlooked. \nLearn More & Register
