SUMMARY:Family Resource Centers: The Under-Funded Heroes of California's Community Pathways
DESCRIPTION:Parenting is hard work\, and we all need supports at some point. Too often a disjointed set of services collides with an overwhelmed family. Families are meeting challenges with love and strength and yet supports are scattered across disconnected programs and agencies. A “community pathway” is what turns that scattering into a coordinated route from first contact to needed stability. \nThe natural front door to a community pathway—Family Resource Centers (FRCs)—still lacks the state recognition and funding needed to fully realize its potential for families. Join Safe & Sound for an informative panel discussion to explore state and national solutions to strengthening Family Resource Centers as an essential front door to robust community pathways. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Self-Care Tools for High-Impact Care Teams
DESCRIPTION:Participants will learn practical\, body-based self-care skills they can use in real time—during a shift\, between hard interactions\, and at home—to reduce stress load and recover faster. This session teaches quick nervous-system resets (breath\, posture\, orienting\, movement\, and micro-recovery routines) that can also be adapted for clients and families. We’ll also name the organizational risk of untreated burnout—shutdown\, compassion fatigue\, and turnover—and identify a few team-level habits that protect sustainability. \nInterpretación en español \nLearn More & Register

SUMMARY:Understanding and Treating Borderline Personality Disorder
DESCRIPTION:Borderline personality disorder (BPD) remains one of the most misunderstood and stigmatized mental health conditions. Misconceptions about emotional dysregulation\, self-harm\, relationships\, treatment outcomes\, and recovery often create fear\, judgment\, hopelessness\, and barriers to meaningful care. \nIn this webinar from Deconstructing Stigma\, Karen Jacob\, PhD\, and Anna Precht\, PsyD\, explore BPD and self-harm through a compassionate\, evidence-based lens—helping clinicians\, caregivers\, and support systems better understand the emotional realities beneath the diagnosis while strengthening confidence in treatment\, validation\, and recovery. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Using Organizational Assessment to Address Secondary Trauma in Child Welfare Settings
DESCRIPTION:Trauma exposure experienced by child welfare staff has been closely linked to engagement with clients\, risk and safety-related decision-making\, and staff turnover. Child welfare agencies often identify secondary trauma (ST) as an occupational hazard for staff but struggle with how to intervene. This webinar from the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) will review how the Washington County (Maryland) Department of Social Services (WCDSS) used the Child Welfare Traumameter (CWT) organizational assessment process to identify and address secondary trauma experienced by its staff. Workshop participants will learn about the CWT process\, the benefits of using organizational assessment to support trauma-informed practice\, and approaches used by WCDSS to both identify and address secondary trauma. There will be time for participants to ask questions. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Trauma-Informed Care Foundations: Understanding Trauma\, Adaptation\, & Healing
DESCRIPTION:During this two-hour webinar\, participants will explore the foundations of trauma-informed care and how they can be applied across a variety of child- and family-serving settings. The session will examine how stress\, adversity\, and trauma shape human adaptation\, relationships\, and behavior\, providing a practical framework for understanding the experiences of both clients and professionals. Participants will learn the core principles of trauma-informed care\, including how to foster safety\, trust\, collaboration\, empowerment\, and cultural responsiveness in everyday interactions and organizational practices. \nThe presentation will also explore the impact of trauma on the workforce\, including secondary traumatic stress and burnout\, and highlight practical strategies for creating environments that support resilience and healing for both staff and the people they serve. Throughout the session\, participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own role in building trauma-informed organizations and identify meaningful actions they can take—regardless of their position—to strengthen trauma-informed practices within their daily work. \nInterpretación en español | CEUs available \n  \nLearn More & Register \n

SUMMARY:HOPE 101
DESCRIPTION:HOPE offers a paradigm shift in the way practitioners approach their work with families and children\, from one that emphasizes deficits and problems to one that actively seeks out strengths and assets. \nThe training presents background information on the health effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the research showing how key positive childhood experiences (PCEs) prevent and mitigate the effects of ACEs and toxic stress\, resulting in improved health outcomes. The biological mechanisms of how PCEs affect the brain are presented. Participants learn about the 4 Building Blocks of HOPE and participate in skill-building exercises that enable them to begin to incorporate the HOPE framework into their work. Different themes of HOPE implementation are explored\, including how to use the HOPE framework to address racial and socioeconomic disparities at your organization. \nInterpretación en español \nLearn More & Register \n

SUMMARY:The ABCs of Revitalizing Well-Being in Trauma-Exposed Organizations
DESCRIPTION:Every day\, those working in trauma-exposed environments encounter stories and situations that leave lasting imprints. Alongside these experiences\, they also face organizational pressures and ethical challenges that can contribute to exhaustion and distress. Over time\, this exposure may lead to secondary traumatic stress (STS)\, burnout\, and moral distress—three overlapping yet distinct occupational hazards that\, if left unaddressed\, can erode individual well-being\, professional purpose\, and organizational health. \nThe session balances individual coping practices with systemic and collective responses\, underscoring why both are essential for sustainable well-being in trauma-exposed work. Through interactive reflection and peer exchange\, attendees will connect with others facing similar challenges and leave with insights they can apply immediately in their work. \nBy the end\, participants will walk away with concrete tools and a renewed perspective on how to rise to the challenges and revitalize their energy while contributing to healthier\, more resilient workplaces. \n  \nLearn More & Register

SUMMARY:Sharenting children on social media: An emerging form of psychological maltreatment
DESCRIPTION:Parents posting images of their children on social media (sharenting) is a widespread and popular phenomenon. In some circles it is a marker of good parenting\, despite being associated with many potential harms to children including identity theft\, use of images in child sexual abuse materials\, and emotional exploitation by parents who may gain attention and financial rewards for posting their children. This training from the TRANSFORM Research Center will present an overview of the problems associated with sharenting along with data from several recently completed studies of psychological maltreatment on TikTok\, views of young adults’ consumption of sharented content and their experience being sharented. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Addressing Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSBs) in Children & Adolescents
DESCRIPTION:When a child or adolescent sexually acts out\, it can be a scary experience for not just a parent but also for the provider working with the family. This talk will first correct common myths and misconceptions about children who sexually act out; for example\, the supermajority of these children are highly responsive to treatment and are NOT pedophiles. The second aspect of this talk will walk through the evidence for how to treat these children and the likelihood of success. With appropriate\, evidence-based practices\, children 3 to 18 who engage in these behaviors are up to 95% successful in treatment and do not sexually reoffend. Evidence for effective approaches and concrete examples and tips for working with these children and their families will be the main focus of this talk. \nInterpretación en español \nLearn More & Register
